Abstract Text | The lead and copper rule revision (LCRR) was published officially by the EPA in December of 2021 which began the clock for utilities to comply with the new rule. This rule has many different facets ranging from distribution system piping inventories to sampling requirements at school. As many utilities prepare for the forthcoming compliance deadline of the LCRR, one aspect of the rule that many utilities will likely need to be addressed is performing a corrosion control treatment evaluation. This presentation will address the requirements as stated in the rule revision and provide examples/ best practices of how utilities across Alabama have performed this type of testing from exhumed pipe testing skids to bench scale screening testing. This presentation will also provide any relevant updates to the rule at the time of the conference as the rule is ever evolving. Any updates regarding treatment requirements as addressed in the rule and subsequent guidance will also be covered. |
