James "Jim" Ballintine is currently a Territory Manager with American Cast Iron Pipe Company covering the states of Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and the Panhandle of Florida. Jim works with both Ductile Iron Pipe and American SpiralWeld Steel Pipe divisions.

Jim is a native of Bloomington, MN. He earned a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1996. While at Minnesota, Jim was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers as well as the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He has been a member of the American Water Works Association for the past 27 years. He Joined American Cast Iron Pipe company in July of 1996 and first worked in the Chicago sales office. Jim was transferred to Birmingham in January of 1999.

Mitch Mathias is a Sales Representative for Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. He began his employment with American Flow Control in 2022. Mitch is a Birmingham native with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Troy University. Before joining American Flow Control, Mitch was a sales representative in the heavy equipment industry. In his free time, Mitch enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Mitch is married to Emilee Mathias from Luverne, Alabama. They have one child and currently live south of Birmingham.

Large Diameter Gate Valves

AMERICAN Flow Control will be presenting on the history and benefits of large diameter resilient wedge gate valves. This presentation will cover the operation, construction, and AWWA Standard C515. The presentation will also go over different applications of the valve.

We will also be covering different end connections and installation of large diameter resilient wedge gate valves. AMERICAN Ductile Iron Pipe/AMERICAN Spiral Weld Steel Pipe will be discussing not only traditional ways to connect to AWWA C200 Steel Pipe and AWWA C150 Ductile Iron Pipe, but new boltless restrained joint methods
